2014 Pulitzer Prizes Print
Active ImageDonna Tartt's bestselling novel The Goldfinch has won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

The Goldfinch is just the 50-year-old Tartt's third novel spanning a 22-year time period, following The Secret History and Little Friend.

The other fiction finalists were The Son by Philipp Meyer and The Woman Who Lost Her Soul by Bob Shacochis.

The Internal Enemy: Slavery and War in Virginia, 1772-1832 by Alan Taylor earned the prize for History; Margaret Fuller: A New American Life by Megan Marshall was the Biography winner; 3 Sections by Vijay Seshadri won for Poetry; and Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation by Dan Fagin won for General Nonfiction.
