|Clinton County Reads 2014|
Get your hiking boots ready for Clinton County Reads 2014.
The ninth annual event features the book A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. The month-long event runs March 4 through April 3. The entire county is invited to read the book and attend various programs and book discussions in order to bring everyone closer together.
The bestselling book is the humorous account of Bryson's attempt to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends.
"Short of doing it yourself, the best way of escaping into nature is to read a book like A Walk in the Woods," said the New York Times. The book may be 15 years old, but Bryson's disturbing observations about the environment ring just as true today.
So clean your boots, find your hiking stick, read the book and prepare for the journey.
