1,000 Books Before Kindergarten |
![]() |
![]() This nationwide program encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills. The library's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success. Any child under 5 years of age can participate. Stop by the library any time to register and pick up a reading log for the first 100 books. After each 100 books, your child will receive a special sticker and place their name on the 1,000 Books Wall of Fame. After 1,000 books, your child will receive a book tote and Dr. Seuss book.
