Active ImageAnyone looking for fun and excitement this summer should visit the library.

The library will offer a multitude of programs, activities and prizes for children 12 and under during its Summer Reading event, "Adventure Begins at Your Library."

Registration for Summer Reading is underway. All children who register will receive a bag that includes reading logs, coupons, etc., and a library yard sign. And everyone who registers before June 1 is entered into a drawing to win one of four adventuresome prizes.

We also will host a kickoff party at 2 p.m., Friday, May 31, in which all participants can enjoy s'mores, crafts and other activities. This will be the first of eight Family Fun Fridays at the library during June and July with special programs scheduled featuring live animals, juggling, music, dancing, and more.

Children can earn prizes just for reading and filling out and returning their logs from June 1 through July 31.

The library also is hosting weekly storytimes through the end of July. See the schedule below.
