Wireless HotSpot

Free Wireless Internet Access at Blanchester Public Library

Equipment — A wireless network interface card compatible with the 802.11a, 802.11b, or 802.11g standard is required. Most laptops and Wi-Fi-enabled devices come equipped with a compatible wireless card.

Set up — No library card is required to use the wireless network access. There also are no passwords. If your equipment is configured to locate a hot spot, it will automatically detect the wireless network. If your computer detects more than one wireless network, select "Blanchester Library" to use the library's wireless network. If your computer does not automatically detect the library's wireless network, more detailed instructions on connecting are available at the Circulation Desk.

Security — Your information is not secure while using most wireless networks, including the library's, unless you are connected to a web page that employs encryption. Also, the library does not filter its wireless Internet access. Please observe Blanchester Public Library's Internet Use Policy while using the wireless network.

Printing — Printing is not available from the wireless network. The easiest way to print something would be to save it to disk, flash drive, or e-mail it to yourself, then log on to a library computer to access and print it.
