COVID-19 update (4/2)
The Blanchester Public Library is temporarily closed through April 11 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting via teleconference at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, April 9. Among other items on the agenda will be discussion regarding extending the closure of the library. Anyone can access the meeting by calling 978-990-5000 and entering the access code 376047.

Per library policy, all staff members will be paid for their normally scheduled hours while the library is closed.

While the library’s bookdrops will remain available, patrons may keep all items they have borrowed until the library re-opens.

Please remember everyone has a role to play in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and staying healthy. Please stay home if you are exhibiting signs of the flu or if you are not feeling well. We invite you to explore everything we have to offer on our website. You have access to movies through Kanopy and can download eBooks and audiobooks through the Ohio Digital Library.

To stay healthy, the CDC and other health agencies recommend:
1.    Washing your hands frequently. Wash your hands for 20 seconds or more with soapy water. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
2.    Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
3.    Avoid contact with people who are sick.
4.    Put distance between yourself and other people (about 6 feet) if COVID-19 is spreading in the community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
5.    Stay home and away from others if you are sick.
6.    Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces frequently.

The situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is evolving daily. We will keep you informed of any changes to our schedule, including any possibility of reopening early. For the latest information, please follow us on social media or check our website.

Please stay safe.

Sincerely,
Chris Owens
